Why do you have frizzy hair?

Have you wondered why some people can control their frizz but yours seems un-tameable?

Frizzy hair control, why you have frizzy hair

Why do I have frizzy hair?

Those of us that suffer from frizzy hair need to know two things;

1. The condition of your hair will affect frizz

2. The weather will affect frizz

However the main cause of frizz is a lack of moisture in your hair. Due to this dryness, your hair actually starts to absorb moisture from the air, et voila, frizz. This is why frizzy hair can become more like a lion’s mane when it’s humid, making frizz even worse.

How to Control the Frizz:

Wash your hair in cooler water

Having a hot shower can feel the best, especially in winter. However when it comes to washing your hair, the hot water is washing away your natural oils from your hair and scalp. These oils keep your hair shiny and moisturised, essential for dry, frizzy hair. Cooler water will help to keep these useful oils, so turn the temperature down when it comes to washing your hair.

Make Heat Protection your new Best Friend

Again, the heat removes those naturally nourishing oils that you want to keep in your hair. Dryer, damaged hair is always more vulnerable to frizz so make sure you get a professional heat protection from the salon.

Keep trimming those ends

Regularly cutting those dead ends off your hair will help reduce frizz as those brittle, split ends are even more likely to frizz than the top strands of hair. Plus your hair will look much healthier with greater volume.

Hair frizz care, hair treatments for frizzy hair

Give your hair some care

As we get older we realise all of the straightening, curling tongs and colouring sooner or later catches up on the quality of our hair. Hair masks are great and you can use this every time you wash your hair. However the best way to treat your hair and see the results quickly is at the salon. From Hair Botox, to Oleoplex and Keratin, when applied at the salon with specific cuticle opening shampoo and left under heat for the correct amount of time, you will get results 10 x quicker than at-home remedies.

Take care with the Towel and Brush

Gently squeeze the moisture out of your hair instead of rough-drying, and even better if you have a microfibre towel to wrap your hair in. This also helps to keep in moisture. While over-brushing can also cause breakage. With those damaged split ends, they will break even more easily, so gentle and sparing with the brush.
