Save your Scalp this Summer

In the summer months, our scalp can suffer more damage. With sunnier days the scalp can burn plus with warmer days, more oil can be produced creating an un-pretty build up.

A healthy scalp means healthy hair and it is often overlooked. Your scalp is the home of your hair, so you want to create the most advantageous environment to grow or nourish your hair, or whatever your hair goal is.

Scalp Sunscreen
Yep, you’re applying sunscreen to the rest of your skin, so don’t leave your scalp out. Just a little sunscreen (mineral sunscreens can be lighter in texture) applied to your parting will protect the exposed scalp.

Summer Hats
Covering the skin is always the best option. There are so many options to cover your head from caps, straw fedoras or floppy sun hats. Even if it is just for part of the day, this will help save your scalp from the direct sun.

Fresh Hair

Avoid too many styling products as this will add to the natural oil build-up the scalp creates in warmer, humid weather. Using lighter products sparingly will help. We have an excellent range of Tahe styling products that are natural, vegan, organic and gentle on the scalp and hair.

Cleanse It
Washing your hair regularly in the summer can be really helpful, especially if you have been on holiday swimming in the sea or pool; salt and chlorine can build up on the scalp. Using a clarifying shampoo will work really well to wash away salt, chlorine, dirt, oils, sunscreen and leave your hair feeling squeaky clean! Call into the salon if you need help with your at-home/on-holiday hair care products.

Take Care
When you come home from holidays or during the Summer at some stage, treat yourself to a professional in-salon hair treatment like Hair Botox or Oleoplex. This will deeply condition your hair, restoring moisture, leaving glossy, stronger strands. Our Hair Botox contains 24 Carat Gold and Salicylic Acid to leave your hair clean and restored.
